Enjoy a summer holiday in 2025 with the whole family in South Holland

In the Netherlands, summer holidays are divided into three periods, with the south, north, and central regions each having different dates:

  • South Netherlands Summer Holiday 2025: July 5 to August 17

  • North Netherlands Summer Holiday 2025: July 12 to August 24

  • Central Netherlands Summer Holiday 2025: July 19 to August 31

This means that from July 4 to September 1, 2025, you can enjoy all the summer activities offered by Family Resort Molenwaard. With average temperatures of 20–25°C, the summer holiday offers the perfect balance of sunny days and pleasant weather for exploring the polder! The village of Ottoland, where Family Resort Molenwaard is located, is in South Holland. During the summer holiday, there’s also plenty to see and do in the cities outside the polder.

 

What can you do at the holiday park during the summer holidays?

Family Resort Molenwaard is the ultimate holiday park for families during the summer holidays. Children can freely play with water at Fountains Square or join the water games, and there are several playgrounds with climbing structures where they can play endlessly. On really warm days, you can enjoy swimming, boating, or renting a pedal boat in the natural pond at the center of the resort. During your stay, Fien & Teun also perform various mini-shows.

Want a unique, summery way to explore the polder? Step into a canoe and paddle along the beautiful nature with a guide. Prefer to explore on your own? That’s no problem, you can also rent canoes without a guide. At Family Resort Molenwaard, boredom is never an option with all the entertainment on offer. Want to feel a little like camping, but with all the comforts of a cottage? Then choose an Adventure Tent!

Polder Passport

A fun way for children to play outside, go for walks, and learn about nature is with the Polder Passport. The Polder Passport comes in both a children’s and a toddler version and is provided for free to every child during their stay. It contains fun games, puzzles, and activities. Kids can explore nature looking for all the items in the outdoor bingo or draw beautiful things from nature. If the weather isn’t ideal, you can bake pancakes together using the real Fien & Teun pancake recipe or do “spot the difference” puzzles. The booklet also includes a bedtime story that you can read together. With the Polder Passport, children will never be bored during a summer holiday at Family Resort Molenwaard.

A night away, midweek, or weekend getaway during the summer holidays?

Experience the most fun summer holiday full of adventure in the themed holiday cottages at Molenwaard. Looking for ultimate relaxation by the water? Choose the cozy 6-person Kinderdijk Cottage, located by the natural pond at the resort. From the covered terrace, you have a wonderful view over the water while the children can play in the nearby playground. This accommodation is perfect for a midweek or weekend getaway during the summer holidays with the family. Thinking of a spontaneous night away during the summer? You can still enjoy unlimited access to all our facilities!

For larger families or groups of friends, we also have comfortable group accommodations. Sleep in the Luxury Haybarn for 16 people, featuring 8 bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, and a large living area. It’s a wonderful place to cook, eat, play games, and enjoy time together. This is a connected property, so the Luxury Haybarn is also available for 8 people.

We will do everything to make your night away, midweek, or weekend in the summer an unforgettable holiday. Don’t want to think about cooking? Reserve a barbecue or gourmet package. Not in the mood to cook at all? No problem, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the Family Restaurant on the resort! The place to be for children who would like to meet their favorite Molenwaard Stars. Check which days you can meet your favorite characters during dinner.
